Kansas State’s Will Brennan, Jake Scudder and Cameron Thompson were each named All-Big 12 Second Team while Brennan and Thompson were also selected to the All- Freshman Team, as the conference announced its end-of-season awards Tuesday.

According to a release from K-State Athletics, Scudder becomes the second Wildcat to be named second team All-Big 12 in consecutive seasons (Jared King, 2011-12), as the senior first baseman was also named 2016 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year following his junior campaign.

Brennan and Thompson are the eighth and ninth Wildcats to be selected to the Big 12’s All-Freshman Team since the inception of the award in 2011, marking the second time in program history to have multiple all-freshman honorees.

The teams and awards were voted on by the league’s head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
