According to a report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Kansas City Royals have offered Eric Hosmer a seven-year, $147 million contract.

Hosmer, who is asking for an eight or nine year contract, also has a seven-year, $140 million offer
on the table from the San Diego Padres.

Left fielder Alex Gordon currently owns the largest contract in Royals’ history. He signed a four-year, $72 million deal back in 2015.

Hosmer was much better at the plate in 2017. He hit .318 with 25 homers and 94 RBI just a season to go.
