K-State redshirt senior Kylee Zumach was selected to the 2018 Preseason All-Big 12 Volleyball Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. This is according to a release from K-State.

Zumach, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter, earns her second career honor after being named to the preseason list in 2014 and is one of 16 players in the league to receive the preseason distinction.

A native of Buffalo, Minnesota, Zumach enters her final season as a Wildcat with 1,058 career kills, ranking sixth on the program’s all-time list (rally-scoring era). Zumach led the Cats with 350 kills 3.02 per set) in 2017, playing in every set for K-State. She also set career highs with 30 service aces and 18 digs last season.

In 2014, she earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year, along with being named to All-Big 12 First Team to go with American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention. The AVCA also tabbed her Midwest Region Freshman of the Year and to the All-Region Team following her freshman campaign.

The Wildcats officially embark on their 2018 season at the Texaco Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii, from August 24-26. The Cats will face off with host Hawaii, UCLA and Gonzaga.

The home opener at Ahearn Field House is set for Tuesday, September 4 at 6 p.m. against Missouri State.
