Following a forensic autopsy, signs point to 19-year-old Jacob Bouck’s death being the result of homicide. Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat revealed the information in a release Friday.
The case is still being investigated by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department, the Wamego Police Department as well as the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. No further information was made available.
Bouck, whose Facebook profile indicates he was a McDonald’s employee, was a 2017 graduate of Wamego High School.

Officials have identified the man whose body was pulled from the Kansas River near Wamego on Christmas Eve.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s authorities said the man is 19-year-old Jacob D. Bouck of Wamego in a release Friday. Prior to his death, Bouck had been last spotted in the Wamego area early on the morning of Friday, December 21st. Foul play is suspected in Bouck’s death and Pott County Sheriff’s officers are being assisted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and KMAN will update further as more information is unveiled.

WAMEGO — Authorities in Pottawatomie County are investigating a death of a man whose body was pulled from the Kansas River Christmas Eve near Wamego.
According to Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat, the man’s name has not been released as investigators work to positively identify him. The death is being investigated as suspicious. Multiple agencies responded to the scene shortly after 10 a.m. Monday after a report of a body located in the north bank of the river about a half mile west of Wamego.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Water Rescue Craft was launched from the Wamego boat ramp and Manhattan Fire Water Rescue assisted in recovering the body.
