From K-State Athletics

K-State volleyball has signed defensive specialist/libero Dru Kuck to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) for the upcoming 2019 season, 19-year head coach Suzie Fritz announced Tuesday.

Kuck (pronounced Cook), a native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, finished as Sheboygan North’s all-time leader in digs with 2,097. Her 694 digs as a senior set a single-season school record and was fourth highest in the state in 2019. She is a four-year varsity letterwinner at Sheboygan North and was named Fox River Classic Conference Co-Player of the Year her senior year.

At 5-foot-5, Kuck was listed as the No. 2 recruit in Wisconsin for the class of 2019 according to PrepDig.com. She is a three-team all-state selection, including being named second team her junior and senior seasons in Division I by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association. Kuck is a four-time Fox River Classic Conference First Team selection and led the FRCC in digs with 694 her senior year – 151 more than her nearest competitor. Kuck played her club ball for Milwaukee Sting and was named an All-American on the club circuit and participated in the USAV Junior Girls Championship in Dallas last April.

Kuck helps make up a five-member freshman class that was ranked as the nation’s 20th-best, according to PrepVolleyball.com. The Wildcats’ incoming class also includes setter Teana Adams-Kaonohi (Honolulu, Hawai`i), outside hitter Anna Dixon (Louisburg, Kansas), middle blocker Faith Hammontree (Shawnee, Kansas) and defensive specialist/libero Loren Hinkle (Shawnee, Kansas).
