    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on October 25, 2019. Officers listed a 27-year-old female as the victim and a male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for motor vehicle theft in the 5900 block of W 76th St. in Manhattan on October 25, 2019, at approximately 3:40 PM. Officers listed an 86-year-old man as the victim when he reported a known male suspect never returned his Blue 1995 Ford Mustang after borrowing it. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for attempted rape in Manhattan on October 25, 2019. Officers listed a 13-year-old female as the victim and a male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for motor vehicle theft in the 300 block of Deep Creek Rd. in Manhattan on October 26, 2019, at approximately 6:15 AM. Officers listed a 27-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his Dark Blue 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for vehicle burglary and criminal damage to property in the 2200 block of Buckingham in Manhattan on October 27, 2019, at approximately 5:20 PM. Officers listed 29-year-old female, a 55-year-old female, and the USDA as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged a vehicle window and took miscellaneous property inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $880.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary near the intersection of North 11th St. and Vattier in Manhattan on October 27, 2019, at approximately 5:45 PM. Officers listed a 24-year-old female and Chobani Yogurt as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a plastic tote with miscellaneous items and a backpack with work items from her vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00.  Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
