    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 900 block of Moro St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2019, at approximately 12:40 PM. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his black and green Aggressor Mountain Bicycle, lock and cable. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $515.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 1200 block of Fremont St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2019, at approximately 4:45 PM. Officers listed a 23-year-old female as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect took her TV and other miscellaneous items from her home. The total loss associated with this case is estimated to be over $1,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of East Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on December 2, 2019, at approximately 8:00 PM. Officers listed Walmart as the victim when it was reported two unknown males took an iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max from the business. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,060.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for sexual battery, battery, and criminal restraint in Manhattan on December 2, 2019. Officers listed a 22-year-old female as the victim and a male known to the victim as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd. and North 48th St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2019, at approximately 5:30 PM. When officers arrived on scene, they found a blue 2013 Volkswagen Passat driven by Bryce Taylor, 21, of Manhattan had crashed with a blue 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Melissa Pierce, 56, of Riley. Both Taylor and Pierce were transported to Via Christi for treatment of their injuries.
