K-State’s Ayoka Lee had another strong week, as she collected her league record-tying ninth Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor in an announcement by the league office on Monday.

Lee has tied Courtney Paris (2005-06) from Oklahoma for the league record for Big 12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week honors in a season since the beginning of the league in 1996-97.

Last week, Lee averaged 19 points on a .452 field goal percentage and a .833 free throw percentage. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. During the week, Lee became the first freshman in program history with 300 or more points, 200 or more rebounds and 60 or more blocks in a season.

Against Texas Tech and the league’s top shot blocker Brittany Brewer, Lee tied her career-highs with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting and a 4-of-6 effort from the free throw line. She also pulled in five rebounds, blocked four shots and pocketed a steal.

Against Baylor, Lee tied the school record for double-doubles in a freshman season with her 12th by tallying 14 points and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. She also hauled in 12 rebounds, blocked two shots and pulled in a steal. Lee’s 12 rebounds were more than Baylor starting front court tandem of NaLyssa Smith and Lauren Cox (12-11).

For the season, Lee leads all Big 12 freshmen in scoring (15.6 ppg), field goal percentage (.554), rebounds (10.8 rpg), offensive rebounds (4.4 orpg), defensive rebounds (6.4 drpg) and blocks (2.9 bpg).

In league play, Lee paces the league’s freshmen in scoring (15.7 ppg), field goal percentage (.557), free throw percentage (.806), rebounds (10.5 rpg), offensive rebounds (4.2 orpg), defensive rebounds (6.3 drpg) and blocks (2.6).
