    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for vehicle burglary in the 700 block of Highland Ridge Dr. in Manhattan on September 16, 2021 around 7:24 AM. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his Playstation 4, subwoofers, and multiple identification/legal documents. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $800. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for vehicle theft in Manhattan on September 16, 2021 around 9:25 AM. Officers listed a 44-year-old female as the victim when she reported a male known to her took her red 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $18,999. The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in Council Grove.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd & Fairview Church Road in Leonardville on September 16, 2021 around 1:20 PM. When officers arrived on scene they found a Green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by Larry Grant, of Ottawa had crashed with a Red 1994 Ford F150 driven by Nicholas Redman, of Wamego. Grant was transported to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 4100 block of Spook Rock Way in Manhattan on September 16, 2021 around 3:20 PM. Officers listed a 28-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took a mattress that was delivered. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,180. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
