On Thursday’s edition of In Focus, KMAN welcomed guests from Fort Riley as well as the Manhattan Housing Authority.

The program opened with an interview with new Garrison Commander Col. Michael Foote, his first appearance on KMAN. After an introduction on his background, he spoke about his first impression of the Flint Hills as well as why Americans should view the Army as their Army.

The show continued with Ron Stewart, Fall Apple Day Coordinator, who previewed the Festival scheduled for September 24th. He shared a little about what to expect in terms of food and entertainment as well as entrance and parking information.

The latter half of the show featured Manhattan Housing Authority Executive Director Aaron Estabrook and MHA Commissioner Brad Claussen as well as Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity Development Manager Ben Deaver. The trio discussed updates on MHA’s initiative to develop a new affordable housing campus in Downtown Manhattan, the impetus for the project, and upcoming opportunities for public engagement on the concept. The final segment focused on MHA and Habitat’s co-interest in neighborhood revitalization.
