Note: Riley County Clerk Rich Vargo advised Friday morning that the deadline noted at Thursday’s Riley County Commission was outdated information. The voter registration deadline is Tuesday, October 18 to be registered for the November 8 general election.

    Original story:

The November 8 General Election is fast approaching, and there’s some important deadlines to consider before then. Riley County Clerk Rich Vargo says the registration deadline is Tuesday, October 18.

Vargo also reminds that advanced voting starts October 19, and it’s something to consider since November weather is unpredictable.

Vargo says the time it will take to get through a ballot may surprise people, and believes there is a potential for lines to form at the polls.
