    Officers filed a report for theft in the 600 block of S. 1oth St. in Manhattan on May 1, 2023, around 1:15 p.m. Howie’s Recycling Inc. was listed as the victim when it was reported a tail light was stolen from a company truck. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1400 block of Colorado St. in Manhattan on May 1, 2023, around 5:00 p.m. A 24-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported her car’s catalytic converter was cut off and stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers responded to the report of a crash following an attempted car theft in the 2600 block of Farm Bureau Rd. in Manhattan on May 2, 2023, around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived on scene, officers found a 43-year-old man whose 2014 Dodge Ram was stolen while he was working in an attached trailer. The man was able to step out of the trailer as the truck and trailer drove away. After traveling a short distance, the truck hit a speed limit sign and stopped. An unknown man driving the truck then ran north on Linear Trail. While on scene, officers found the suspect walking back toward the scene on Linear Trail. He was identified as Jesus Blanco, 28, of Manhattan, and was found to be intoxicated. Blanco was arrested for theft and driving while under the influence. Black remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $9,000.
