    * With school budgets being dictated so much by what the state mandates, how will you as a board member, bring about more control at the local level over areas such as property taxes?

    * What more can be done for teachers from a board perspective to ensure they feel supported and compensated fairly? Curt answered this question within question 2.

    * When it comes to curriculum, there are disagreements and debates over what students are being taught. Some feel political agendas and biases have grayed the area over what’s acceptable in the classroom. Where do you draw the line on educational importance versus whether something ties more to a conservative or liberal political agenda?

    * The district has for the most part wrapped up its most recent bond projects. Looking ahead, some are going to ask in the next 5 to 10 years, should we have a third middle school, perhaps a second high school. What’s the situation for early learning going to be? What do you see as the district’s most pressing needs from a facilities standpoint over the next decade?
