Construction in Aggieville has been on pause for close to a year but should resume soon.
Aggieville Business Association Director Dennis Cook tells KMAN that the Midtown project is expected to resume construction this summer, but says adjacent work to the nearby alley should get underway in April.
“What they’re getting ready to do is, in the alley between 11th and 12th, between Moro and Laramie, they’re going to start working on that alley and will begin burying all the powerlines. Eventually that’s going to happen in all four of the big alleys in Aggieville,” he said.
Cook says additional work will occur in Triangle Park and Moro Street, though timetables for those projects haven’t been finalized.
“We still have some work to do with Triangle Park and that whole entrance area, even though that’s been done on North Manhattan Avenue and Little Moro, but the park itself is going to require some changes,” he said.
What changes are coming isn’t certain yet.
All of Aggieville construction is anticipated to be complete by 2028.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade returns this Saturday after a year off due to construction. It will take place at 1 p.m. following the road races, which begin at 10 a.m.
