K-State men’s basketball has landed another guard out of the transfer portal. Cal State Fullerton’s 6’4″ guard Max Jones committed to K-State on Thursday.

Jones also received interest from New Mexico, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Florida Atlantic and Loyola Chicago after entering the portal on March 21. Jones snuck into Manhattan for a midweek visit and made his commitment on the heels of it.

In two seasons at Fullerton, Jones has averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 56 games. Like the other guard transferring in, JOnes can hit threes. Shooting 39% and making 76 threes at a Titan. He was named an All-Big West Honorable Mention selection for the 2022-23 season.

Prior to his time at Fullerton, Jones played two season at the University of Tampa. Averaging 22.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game in two seasons at Tampa. He was also named the Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year.

Jones is the fifth transfer portal commitment for K-State. He joins Dug McDaniel, CJ Jones, Brendan Hausen and Baye Fall as transfer portal commitments for K-State. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
