Sheriff’s deputies in Pottawatomie County arrested a local woman on Monday after reports were filed in Riley County of two stolen vehicles.

RCPD filed the report of motor vehicle theft in the 500 block of S. 15th Street just prior to 7 a.m. on Monday when a service vehicle was stolen by an unknown suspect. Officers listed Olgoonik Enterprises as the victim in this case. While investigating, officers discovered a second vehicle had gone missing – a 2012 GMC Denali. Officers were able to locate the two vehicles in Frankfort later in the day.

Sheriff’s deputies from Pott County later arrested a suspect in the case – 32-year-old Kimberlea Becklund, who is homeless. The charges were not disclosed by RCPD at this time.

Monday’s incident was one of ten motor vehicle burglaries reported to RCPD. There have also been three reports of vehicle thefts with two recoveries according to police. Officers are encouraging everyone to remain aware and lock their doors when they leave their vehicles.
