RCPD makes arrest at local business for distributing products exceeding legal THC levels

By KMAN Staff on January 31, 2025 Local News, Manhattan

The RCPD executed a search warrant at CBD American Shaman in Manhattan, Kansas, on January 30, 2025, as part of an investigation into the illegal distribution of CBD products exceeding THC levels permitted under the Kansas Industrial Hemp Act. Donald Ince, a 46-year-old Manhattan resident, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of marijuana distribution.

His total bond was set at $15,060. At the time of this report, Ince was not confined.

The investigation has been ongoing due to increasing reports of consumers purchasing CBD products with THC concentrations above the legal limit, which led to confusion among buyers who thought they were purchasing legal items.

Consumers and businesses are urged to ensure that CBD products comply with Kansas law, specifically the THC limit of 0.3%. RCPD encourages everyone to be cautious and verify product legality before purchasing.
