    RECAP: Manhattan girls qualify 11 for State, two Rock Creek wrestlers win regional titles

    Manhattan girls finish in 4th place in the 6A West Regional at Wichita West High School. Qualifying a program record 11 wrestlers for 6A State.

    Individual Results

    100 – Eva Lucios (37-10) placed 6th to qualify for state. Going 2-3 with one pin.
    105 – Blancaelizabeth Floresklemick (16-19) placed 7th to qualify for state. 3-2 with two pins.
    110 – Alexis Haeusler (32-15) placed 5th to qualify for state. 4-2 with one pin.
    115 – Kimberly Altamirano-Cruz (8-20) did not place. Finishing 0-2.
    120 – Carizma Ramos (22-18) placed 7th to qualify for state. 3-2 with two pins.
    125 – Evelyn Thornburg (32-9) placed 2nd to qualify for state. 3-1 with three pins.
    130 – Eleanor Radi (32-14) placed 3rd to qualify for state. 4-1 with two pins.
    135 – Alayna Slifer (37-3) placed 2nd to qualify for state. 3-1 with two pins.
    140 – Tierra Young (37-17) placed 4th to qualify for state. 3-2 with three pins.
    145 – Sophia Hoeme (41-7) placed 2nd to qualify for state. 3-1 with two pins.
    155 – Tasia Miller (18-15) placed 6th to qualify for state. 3-3 with three pins.
    170 – Erica Li (16-26) placed 7th to qualify for state. 3-2 with three pins.

    6A State will be February 28 – March 1 at The AdventHealth Sports Park in Overland Park.

    Rock Creek girls finished in 3rd place in the 4A West Regional at McPherson High School. Qualifying eight wrestlers for 4A State. Including, two regional champions. Head Coach Brad Burenheide was named 4A West Regional Coach of the Year.

    Individual Results

    110 – Joee Perkins (20-21) did not place. 3-2 with one pin.
    115 – Liliauna Nold (39-0) wins regional championship to qualify for state. 4-0 with four pins.
    120 – Claire Steeves (19-20) did not place. 3-2 with one pin.
    125 – Ali Wilcoxson (31-19) placed 6th to qualify for state. 5-3 with three pins.
    130 – Madi Engel (8-18) did not place. 1-2 weekend.
    135 – Megan Ryan (29-4) placed 2nd to qualify for state. 4-1 with one tech fall.
    140 – Brooklyn Burenheide (34-1) wins regional championship to qualify for state. 4-0 with three pins.
    145 – Gabby Roth (26-19) placed 8th to qualify for state. 3-3 with two pins.
    155 – Elocin Moran (25-17) placed 7th to qualify for state. 4-2 with one pin.
    170 – Kaylee Freeman (17-9) placed 6th to qualify for state. 2-3 with one pin.
    190 – Rae Wilson (23-10) placed 6th to qualify for state. 3-3 with one pin.

    4A State will be February 28 – March 1 at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.

    Wamego girls finished in 22nd place in the 4A West Regional at McPherson High School. Qualifying two wrestlers for 4A State.

    Individual Results

    100 – Peyton Brazzle (27-7) placed 2nd to qualify for state. 3-1 with one pin.
    110 – Isabella Stream (25-16) placed 8th to qualify for state. 3-3 with two pins.
    115 – Rachel Barber (9-16) did not place. 1-2 with one pin.
    120 – Allison Sprenkle (12-17) did not place. 2-2 weekend.
    130 – Eva Lull (14-15) did not place. 1-2 with one pin.
    135 – Trinity Propst (12-9) did not place. 3-2 with three pins.
    145 – Ella Yakel (8-18) did not place. 1-2 weekend.

    4A State will be February 28 – March 1 at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.

    Riley County girls finished in 33rd place in the 3-1A East Regional at Rossville High School. Qualifying two wrestlers for 4A State.

    Individual Results

    110 – Ruthie England (3-18) did not place. 1-2 with one pin.
    115 – Aryana De Leon (9-16) placed 8th to qualify for state. 2-3 with two pins.
    120 – Makayla Truesdale (9-15) placed 8th to qualify for state. 2-3 with two pins.
    125 – Lila Sullivan (4-22) did not place. 1-2 weekend.
    170 – Belle Henton (2-19) did not place. 1-2 weekend.

    3-1A State will be February 28 – March 1 at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.
