It’s property valuation week in Riley County. What does this mean for resident tax dollars?

On today’s episode of Within Reason with Mike Matson, Mike speaks with Riley County Appraiser Anna Burson and Riley County Public Information Officer Vivienne Leyva on the change of valuation notices going out in the mail this week. Properties are valued based on the current market. Diving into the tedious work of appraising, Burson and Leyva give insight into the relationship between fair market prices and a property’s actual value.

Burson urges property owners to look over their property value notices, accessible on the Riley County website by noon on February 28, and fill out the appeal form with any concerns or questions within 30 days.
