    By Rose Gruenbacher

Riley County Police Department this week proposed a $30.85 million budget for 2026, which would be a 7.28% increase from 2025.

Director Brian Peete said the proposed number, presented Monday, includes cost-of-living raises, a new corrections sergeant, security camera equipment and money for contractual services such as help during community parades and races.
