The Riley County Police Department reported a variety of incidents and arrests over the weekend, ranging from non-injury accidents to felony arrests.
Among the incidents, police responded to multiple non-injury accidents at locations including the 2600 block of Kimball Avenue, the intersection of Walters Drive and Tuttle Creek Boulevard, and S. 11th Street and Poyntz Avenue. Officers also handled reports of blackmail/extortion, criminal damage to property, a criminal threat, and a past fight at the Manhattan Town Center MallSeveral arrests were made, including Johnaton Minh Son Tran, 35, of Manhattan, who was taken into custody early Sunday morning for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Gerald Dwight Baker Jr., 22, and Charla Sue Albright, 44, were both arrested on outstanding failure to appear warrants. Albright faces additional charges for probation violation and multiple failures to appear.
William Leonard Henson Jr., 53, was arrested for domestic battery, assault, and criminal damage to property. He remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $11,000.
Additional charges over the weekend included minor in possession of alcohol, fleeing and eluding, and drug- or alcohol-related DUIs.
