    Bryan Painter, 38, of Manhattan, was arrested on August 3, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m. on a Geary County District Court warrant for identity theft and criminal use of a financial card. Painter was issued a told bond of $7,500 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 700 block of Pebblebrook Circle in Manhattan on August 2, 2025, at approximately 1:54 p.m. A 45-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a table. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,300. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 400 block of 3rd Street in Manhattan on August 1, 2025, at approximately 6:56 p.m. A 42-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect brandished a machete during an argument. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1500 block of University Drive in Manhattan on August 1, 2025, at approximately 11:09 a.m. A 20-year-old woman and 19-year-old man were listed as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into their vehicle and stole a backpack and boots. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,516. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 200 block of Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan on August 1, 2025, at approximately 9:49 a.m. The Downtown Farmer’s Market of Manhattan was listed as the victim when it was reported a 46-year-old woman took money. The estimated total loss with this case is approximately $6,000.
