    Officers filed a report of battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and interference with a law enforcement officer in the 500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Manhattan, on September 8, 2025, at approximately 8:46 a.m. A 38-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported a 35-year-old man was acting disorderly, interfered with an officer’s investigation and battered an officer. Wylee Schmit, 35, of Manhattan, was arrested on September 8, at approximately 8:52 a.m., for battery of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and interference with a law enforcement officer. Schmit was issued a total bond of $7,500 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
