The Kansas State women fell just short of a full comeback on Sunday in a 77-72 loss to old Big 12 foe Texas A&M.
The Wildcats (3-2) fell behind by as much as 13 at the half, but stormed back to tie it early in the fourth quarter, but just couldn’t get over the final hump.
“I mean, there was a lot of growth in this game, but ultimately we need to make more plays,” head coach Jeff Mittie said. “The goal is to win the game, figure out how to win the game. We’re never going to be happy with the fact that we didn’t do that, but if you didn’t see progress today, then you weren’t watching the same game I was watching.”
The loss is the second straight after K-State fell in a heartbreaker to South Dakota on Thursday. The game is the fourth in the last eight days for a very young Wildcat team that’s playing without two potential starters in Nastja Claessens and Jenessa Cotton.
