City commissioners provided positive feedback on a planned subdivision that hopes to use a benefit district and workforce housing sales tax (WHST) dollars.
Craig Lauppe and Lindsay Lauppe of New Place Development presented to commissioners on Tuesday an early plan for a housing project in a new subdivision off of Stagg Hill Road and Davis Drive in Manhattan. The developers proposed using a benefit district to pay for the public infrastructure, and then WHST to help to pay down the special assessments on some of the lots.
The Halcyon Park subdivision would include two home lots, with one of the lots seeking WHST funding. The proposed WHST lot would include 16 single-family homes ranging from 972 to 1,150 square feet. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom houses range in anticipated from $265,000 to $275,000.
