After decades on the roof of Rickel’s Retail Liquor in Aggieville, the life-size Budweiser Clydesdale fiberglass horse is gone for good.

The store’s owner, Monica Rickel, said the building owner, McCullough Development Properties, forced her to remove the horse and Budweiser carriage from the roof on Sept. 16 because of various liability issues.

“I couldn’t put it on the building because the owners of the building had redone the roofing up there and of liability, they would not let me put it back up there,” Rickel said. “Another liability for the building owner of somebody getting hurt because people were getting up there after drinking and taking pictures. That was another liability they had, and that’s another reason why they didn’t want the horse up there.”
