by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV K-State jumped out to a lead and never looked back on Sunday afternoon against Incarnate Word, winning 98-50. We didn’t learn a ton about the Wildcats in their final tune-up before Nebraska next weekend, but here are my takeaways. BETTER FOCUS Despite a few lapses early in the game, I thought K-State did a pretty good job of getting locked in from the jump and keeping it up through the game’s entirety. This had been a problem throughout the start of the season, with giant gaps in intensity and focus during…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV When Jerome Tang was hired at K-State prior to the 2022-23 season, the Wildcats’ nonconference schedule was already made for him, an oddity in today’s college basketball. Tang’s regime was only able to schedule one game, a road contest at Cal – the Wildcats’ second game of the season. Unlike college football where nonconference games are scheduled sometimes a decade in advance, most college basketball schedules are formulated in the few months before the season tips in early November. Tang didn’t have the luxury of creating his own schedule because the previous K-State coaching staff, led by Bruce…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV Almost a week ago the Wildcats were celebrating their third Big 12 Championship and plenty of plays stood out as big ones from that performance. Daniel Green and Eli Huggins’ goal line stand, Deuce Vaughn’s 44-yard run, Julius Brents with a forced fumble on Quentin Johnston and Will Howard’s rocket to RJ Garcia. All fantastic plays that will be remembered in years to come. But as I looked back at some of the games from this season, it’s best to not forget plays that helped put the Wildcats in Arlington. 5.…

Mason Voth and Alec Busse from EMAW Online give their answers to a few of the questions surrounding K-State football over the next month. by Alec Busse • EMAWOnline – Lead Reporter – @Alec_Busse How did K-State land in a NY6 bowl game? When the Big 12 Championship game kicked off, K-State pretty much knew what bowl game they would be playing in. Once the Wildcats were in a position to play in the conference title game, they were assured an opportunity to play in the Sugar Bowl for the first time in program history. “I’m so excited for our football team, our players, coaching staff, support staff,” head coach Chris Klieman said of playing in the Sugar Bowl. “It’s been a great year, a long…

As K-State heads toward the finish of the 2023 recruiting cycle and coaches have hit the road this entire week to see commitments, prospects, and portal targets, they found the time to extend an offer to Arkansas defensive back JT Tomescko. The Bentonville native just concluded his senior season, and now has five Division I offers with K-State being his first at the power five level. Other offers come from Air Force, Navy, Colorado State and FCS Murray State. Tomescko was in Manhattan to watch the Sunflower Showdown in person and said that during the visit he was “amazed” by the facilities and…
