by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV On Thursday afternoon the Big 12 announced the opponents for the upcoming 2023-2024 season for each member school. The format will see a home and home schedule with five schools, and then four schools will only be home games and four will only be road games. For the Wildcats, they will have a permanent home and home opponent in Kansas, meaning every year the Wildcats and Jayhawks will see each other twice. In 2023-2024 the other four schools that K-State will see twice in the regular season are BYU, Iowa State,…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV The reigning Big 12 Champion coach in the conference was the first man to step up to the podium on Thursday. One of the questions he received was about going from the hunter to the hunted, a role that he relishes being in. “But yeah, to be the hunted, the fact that we’re the defending Big 12 champs means nothing when you go into that game. I mean, still, you’ve got to perform. Fortunately, we’ve had past experiences from my previous school that we had to win a championship and then…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV Last season Brett Yormark made his Big 12 debut and sent shockwaves through college football when he said the Big 12 was “open for business.” Yormark clarified that he was interpreted last season, because the Big 12 is open to adding more members that add value, but the other aspects of business were also important. Those goals are starting to be accomplished, according to Yormark. Yormark noted how the league has successfully lined up their next TV contract while others struggle in the current sports media climate and in the new deal have reached…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV The Big 12 just released their all-conference preseason team and will soon release the preseason Big 12 rankings, so in honor of “list season” I figured it was time to take a crack at ranking the football coaches in the new 14-team Big 12, as well as putting them in the tiers they belong to. Tip of the cap to our old friend Alec Busse who recently did this on Big Ten coaches for The Hoosier. There are four tiers that the coaches will be grouped into, with the “hot seat” tier being self-explanatory.…

by Mason Voth • EMAWOnline – Managing Editor – @TheRealMasonV It’s the dawn of a new day and a new era in the Big 12. For the first time since 2012, there are new members in the league as BYU, Cincinnati, UCF and Houston join the Big 12 after Texas and Oklahoma fired realignment back up two summers ago. While the Big 12 will change again in one year when Texas and Oklahoma finally leave for the SEC, this is still an exciting time for the league and the new teams that leave behind the American Athletic Conference or Independent ball…

The Lyndon offensive lineman had narrowed his recruitment down to K-State, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Ole Miss before announcing his pledge to the Wildcats. In total, Massey had 13 offers. What K-State is getting in Massey is a strong-sized offensive lineman, who…

Although Gabriel had to battle through some injuries in his first season at Oklahoma, the former UCF signal-caller still put up big numbers. Gabriel threw for over 3,100 yards and 25 touchdowns against only six interceptions. Oklahoma found a way to lose games despite big games from Gabriel, who had a QBR over 80 in four of the six losses he played in for Oklahoma. Gabriel is also the most proven…
