Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery and criminal damage to property in Manhattan on Sept. 26, 2025 at approximately 3:32 a.m. A 29-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 26-year-old man was listed as the suspect. William Avila, 26, of Manhattan, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and criminal damage to property at 4:34 a.m. in Manhattan. A Manhattan woman’s trial in Riley County District Court ended Wednesday, with a jury convicting her of five charges, including conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and other drugs near a school. Catrien Ann Van Petten, 36, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute over 1,000 units of fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with the intent to distribute between 10 and 99 units of fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
