A new restaurant and craft brewery is coming to Manhattan and is set to open one of its two locations later this year. Owned by Manhattan natives Ryan and Amber Emley, the Aggieville Brewing Company will service two locations at 612 Pillsbury Drive and 1123 Moro Street. According to a Thursday release, the Pillsbury location will house a brewing production facility and taproom, in addition to a dine-in restaurant. A Manhattan man is jailed following a domestic disturbance near the intersection of S. Manhattan Ave. and Fair Lane Wednesday morning. According to a Riley County Police Department investigation, 18-year-old Darryl Klemick is accused of threatening to shoot a 43-year-old man and prevented him from leaving a residence by standing in front of his car, taking the key and refusing to give it back. Klemick was also found to be in possession of stolen opiate pills and drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to the report of a domestic situation near the intersection of S. Manhattan Ave. and Fair Ln. in Manhattan on May 31, 2023, around 7:00 a.m. After arriving on scene, officers found an 18-year-old man had threatened to shoot a 43-year-old man known to him, prevented him from leaving a residence by standing in front of his car, and took the key from his car and refused to give it back. A Manhattan man is behind bars for his connection to two previously unreported stabbings. The Riley County Police Department says 45-year-old Jarman Morgan was arrested Wednesday on a Riley County District Court warrant for two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery. The incidents are alleged to have occurred in the summer of 2020 and spring of 2021. Morgan is reported to have stabbed the same 35-year-old man in the head and face on both occasions. The victim, who is still living, did not receive medical care for either stabbing. Morgan’s bond is set at $100,000.

K-State basketball will have the services of Nae-Qwan Tomlin again next season after the forward removed his name from the NBA Draft pool. Tomlin had been expected to make the move after declaring for the draft earlier this spring to receive feedback from NBA scouts. He averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds a game this past season, his first in Manhattan after a juco All-American campaign the year previous. RCPD is investigating another incident involving a firearm and ammunition stolen from a vehicle, the second such incident in less than a week. A burglary report was filed Tuesday in the 300 block of North 16th Street. A 20-year-old man reported to police his unlocked truck was entered, with thieves taking a 9 mm pistol and ammunition. The estimated total loss is approximately $470. A similar incident was reported Friday in the 2700 block of Brittany Place. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
