Colorado has been in substantive talks with the Big 12 about possibly joining the growing league, a source with knowledge of the discussions tells CBS Sports. While a move out of the Pac-12 is not assured, Colorado is performing due diligence to determine whether to return to the conference it once called home. Tomorrow marks the filing deadline for the November general election, and a seventh person has announced they are vying for a seat on the Manhattan City Commission. Karen McCulloh announced Tuesday she is hoping to be elected to the commission once again. McCulloh was elected to the city commission back in 1997 and 2013. During that time, she served twice as mayor. The U.S. Cavalry and 1st Infantry Division Museums at Fort Riley are set to reopen in June, after being closed more than five years for renovation. The museums have been closed since January 2018 for what initially was a planned two to three year phased project to include structural improvements, updated lighting and technology and a redesign of display spaces. The project has faced numerous set backs since the COVID-19 pandemic and has seen the projected reopening pushed back several times over the past three years. As the June 1st filing deadline for the November general election fast approaches, the field for a seat on the Manhattan-Ogden School Board has gotten a bit more crowded. After three new candidates filed late last week, the race now features nine total candidates for the four vacant seats. They include two of the four incumbents, Kristin Brighton and Curt Herrman. The other candidates include Katie Allen, Frank Beer, Robert Busby, Nolan Foth, Courtney Jane Hochman, former Manhattan High School Principal Greg Hoyt and Audrey Swartz. That was the Kansas Territorial Pipes and Drums performing for the large crowd gathered at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
