Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across northeast Kansas Friday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka. Forecasters say storms could begin developing between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., initially forming as individual storms or supercells before transitioning into a line of storms later in the evening. That line is expected to move east-southeast through the region and exit the area around midnight. The entire region could see storms if cloud cover clears enough to allow additional warming during the day. Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Joe Bob Clements is joining the K-State football staff, a source confirmed Thursday. Clements will serve as an assistant for the Wildcats and new head coach Collin Klein, the source said. Clements just finished his 12th year as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at OSU. He had been a coach at Kansas State beginning in 1999, when he was a student assistant. He was defensive ends coach there from 2003-2005, then defensive line coach from 2009 to 2011, and defense run game coordinator in 2012. Matthew Lynn, 27, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 10:08 p.m. on March 4, 2026 in the 1200 block of Freemont Street on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated assault. A dense fog advisory is in effect across portions of north-central and eastern Kansas Thursday morning, with forecasters warning that visibility could drop below a quarter mile in some areas. The advisory is expected to remain in place until around 10 a.m. The National Weather Service in Topeka says the widespread fog could make travel hazardous during the morning commute. Kaw’s, a Johnny Kaw-branded nightclub, will officially open at 10 p.m. Thursday in the former Shot Stop space. The club is modeled after Westport Landing, one of the brand’s Kansas City locations, and is designed to bring a larger, more polished nightlife experience to Manhattan. The venue features a central dance floor surrounding the DJ, six VIP tables and nearly 100 smart lights designed by a professional lighting designer. President Donald Trump awarded three soldiers with the Medal of Honor on Monday, including one from Fort Riley. This marks the 39th time a Fort Riley soldier has received this military decoration. Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Terry P. Richardson received his Medal of Honor for his actions during the Vietnam War. The former Fort Riley soldier is credited with saving the lives of 85 other service members in September 1968. Richardson was drafted in May 1967 before deploying to Vietnam in 1968 with the 1st Infantry Division. He now lives in Cass City, Michigan. To view the full article visit…
