OLATHE, Kan. (AP) An affluent suburban Kansas City woman who admitted last year shoplifting truckloads of clothing from area retailers has been arrested again, this time on suspicion of stealing bras. The Kansas City Star reports 47-year-old Kelli Bauer of Overland Park, Kansas, is accused of stealing an unknown number of bras from a Kohl’s store on Nov. 15. Police searched Bauer’s $900,000 home in an exclusive Johnson County neighborhood in April 2015 and found more than 1,000 stolen items, some of which she was trying to sell. (AP) Immigration officials say a Dallas woman accused of killing a mother and abducting her baby was living in the country illegally when she was released from a Kansas jail this summer before federal authorities could request she be detained in connection with a previous kidnapping incident. The newly-completed Wamego Area Veteran’s Memorial was dedicated on a bright, sunny afternoon in Wamego City Park on Sunday, with a large crowd of Gold Star families and veterans in attendance. This memorial was the vision of American Legion Post 172 Commander Gary McCloud, and some of the Legion Riders who saw other memorials as they participated in veteran’s funerals. Riley and Pottawatomie Counties recently received the Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) Grant award of $35,800 from Kansas Department of Health and Environment to address chronic disease risk reduction through evidence-based strategies that impact tobacco use, physical activity, nutrition, and chronic disease self-management over the next year, according to a press release sent by Riley County K-State Research and Extension Tuesday. A report for burglary, criminal damage to property, and theft was filed in the 2800 block of W. 56th Ave. in Manhattan around noon on Monday. Police found that a 2004 GMC Sierra belonging to Wood Enterprises of Ogden was removed without permission. Gas caps, an auger attachment, and vehicle battery were also removed.
