The City of Manhattan hosted a stakeholder meeting to discuss K-State’s North Campus Corridor Master plan, Wednesday. the master plan will lay-out what types of space and infrastructure requirements will be needed to accommodate future growth along North Manhattan Avenue, Claflin Road and Kimball Avenue. The planning process began late last fall when K-State hired Perkins and Will as its lead design firm. According to Hilgers, the master plan will be complete in early summer, but major infrastructure improvements are not likely until NBAF is completed in 5-7 years.

The 20 year old Frank Bergman Elementary roof will finally be replaced after Manhattan Ogden USD 383 school board members approved unanimously to accept a bid of $347,488 for the project, during their Wednesday night meeting. This item has been discussed during previous meetings, but the large chunk of change necessary for the project caused it to be delayed. By Chris Kutz, K-State Athletics Communications Due to rain in the Manhattan area, tonight’s baseball game between K-State and Omaha at Tointon Family Stadium has been postponed. A makeup date has not been announced. K-State (11-12, 0-3 Big 12) will now play its next game on Friday, March 27, opening a three-game series at No. 12 Oklahoma State in Stillwater. First pitch for the series opener is set for 7 p.m.

While accounts vary on how many shots were fired, an affidavit for warrant application released by Riley County District Court Wednesday morning in a voluntary manslaughter case indicates the victim was shot in the center of the forehead. A jury trial that was supposed to be held early next month will no longer take place, as a plea agreement regarding the case was presented in Riley County District Court Wednesday morning. Kaywaun Washington faces charges stemming from an October of 2014 incident, where he reportedly held two women at gunpoint.  He appeared in court alongside his attorney, Britian Stites.  Stites informed Chief Judge, Meryl Wilson a plea agreement had been reached. Washington pled no contest to two counts of kidnapping, as the other charges were dismissed during the motion’s hearing. Wilson found Washington guilty on both charges, and set sentencing…
