Updated 8:20 a.m. Thursday Riley County Police have altered a listing of charges in connection with a sex crime arrest reported Wednesday. The charges against Gregory E. Hoyt, 27, of Manhattan are now listed as two counts of rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy. Originally charges were listed as aggravated indecent liberties instead of aggravated sodomy. As previously announced, The Riley County Police Department took the 27-year-old Hoyt into custody after receiving reports of inappropriate behavior between he and a child he knew. Two inmates with Geary County convictions face public comment sessions and subsequent parole hearings the next few months. Alex Mackey, 56, is serving time on convictions including drug possession, theft, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in four different counties from 1983 to 2002. The Geary County conviction is for theft and was Mackey’s first reported conviction in 1983. His earliest possible release date is October first. Mackey is being held in Hutchinson.
