The Junction City Police Department and the United States Marshals Service are asking for the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending a fugitive wanted by the United States Marshal’s Service. The Marshal’s Service believes the wanted subject, Heidi Lynn Webster, has ties to the Manhattan/Junction City area and that persons may have information on her whereabouts. A former private in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Riley has been indicted on charges of stealing his fellow soldiers’ identities, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom reported yesterday (Thursday). Todd M. Newbrough was charged on Wednesday with four counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, four counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of computer fraud. The crimes are alleged to have occurred at various times from 2011 to 2015 at Fort Riley. A demolition permit application has been received at Manhattan’s Code Services Office for the old Sears wing at the Manhattan Town Center. Still no official word on what will be located there, but Town Center General Manager Allen Raynor tells KMAN negotiations are pending and near completion. KMAN has been working on this story since early in the year, but negotiations have apparently been taking some time. The Sears at the Town Center has been closed since last fall.

A Manhattan woman facing several charges in Dickinson County was arrested by Riley County Police Wednesday afternoon, with a bond of $125,000. Thursday’s Riley County Police report indicates that at approximately 4:45 PM Wednesday RCPD arrested Rachelle Gloth, 24, while in the 2100 block of Fort Riley Boulevard. Gloth was arrested on four warrants originating out of Dickinson County, for failure to report to court services, two counts of failure to appear, and violation of a protective order. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A federal magistrate has entered a not guilty plea on behalf of a Topeka man charged with conspiracy in a plot to bomb the Fort Riley military base. Alexander E. Blair stood silent at his arraignment Wednesday on a criminal information accusing him of conspiring with John T. Booker, Jr., in the planned attack. The court then entered the plea for him.
