A Junction City man faces an August jury trial in a fleeing and eluding case that involved a couple of counties last November.A review hearing was held for Devoris Newson Wednesday in Riley County District Court, with a pretrial set for July 18th and jury trial August 20th. Newson originally faced a number of charges and Riley County police used the IRIS alert system and social media to warn the public they were looking for him on a Sunday in early November. A Manhattan Christian College student pursuing a degree in the LEAD Program was presented with a grant check by members of PEO, Chapter IW, of Manhattan Wednesday afternoon. SAN DIEGO (AP) The San Diego Chargers have agreed to a deal with former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers. The team announced the deal Tuesday. Terms weren’t disclosed. Kansas City released Flowers earlier this month after three weeks of voluntary workouts during which the former starter was conspicuously absent.
