The Kansas Department of Transporation will begin emergency repairs to the 56th Avenue bridge over K-18 Monday, weather permitting, which will result in some traffic adjustments. The project will repair damages previously made to the underside of the bridge as a result of a motor vehicle crash. KDOT says during the initial phase, which is anticipated to finish in late December, the 56th Avenue bridge and westbound lanes of K-18 under the bridge will be closed to traffic to repair or replace damaged girders. Officers listed a 58-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a known male threatened him. Raphael Williams, 25, of Wichita was arrested after being transported to the Riley County Police Department on October 26, 2023, around 2:56 PM.
