Update 10:00 Wednesday morning Riley County Police released the names of the individuals involved in the motor vehicle accident in Ogden Tuesday afternoon. Johnny Cossey (38) was driving a 2004 Lincoln LS northbound down Walnut Street across Riley Avenue, when it collided with two motorcycles that were traveling westbound on Riley. The operators of those motorcycles were identified as James Garrett III (48) and Steven Cannon Jr. (29). Garrett was transported via Life Star Helicopter to Via Christi Hospital in Wichita for injuries, and his current condition is unknown.  Cannon was transported by Riley County EMS to Mercy Regional Health Center…

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Wichita State University officials are celebrating after the Kansas Legislature approved $2 million for a new effort to create more technology jobs. The university also will get back some of the millions it lost last year when lawmakers cut its budget and put a cap on some employees’ salaries. Wichita State wants to create an Innovation Campus by forming partnerships with companies, which will be housed in four buildings on campus. SALINA, Kan. (AP) The Saline County sheriff is reopening an investigation into a sexual harassment complaint against the county’s health director, who started work Monday. Bronson Farmer said he is more concerned about his new job as director of the Saline County Health Department than he is about Sheriff Glen Kochanowski’s decision to reopen the investigation. The Salina Journal reports a woman alleged that Farmer sexually harassed her in 2006, when they both worked at the health department. A St. Mary’s man already serving time for multiple burglaries entered a plea of no contest Monday in Pottawatomie County District Court to three counts of non-residential burglaries. Luke Linxwiler’s sentencing is set for April 24th.   The cases occurred in April and May of 2013 and involved Griffith Lumber and a site under construction in the industrial park in Pottawatomie County.   Linxiler was sentenced in February to nine years in prison for multiple burglaires in rural St.Mary’s and the city of St. Mary’s last summer

Jason Vargas was sharp in eight innings of work for Kansas City as the Royals open up a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays with a 4-2 victory Monday night at Kauffman Stadium.
