The Kansas Congressional Delegation Tuesday announced the President’s budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2015 designates $300 million to further advance construction on the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan. The move by the Administration signals clear support for completion of the project as a national security priority.The entire delegation and the NBAF Task Force will continue efforts to secure this funding through the appropriations process. A Manhattan woman says she was attacked by two dogs while she was walking her small terrier around Garden Way on Tuesday morning. Sandra Pike is headed to the hospital after she says she was attacked by two pit bull terriers as she rounded a corner in the rear of several apartments. Pike says she just stood still, and called for the owners to come get the dogs off of her. City officials say they will investigate, and the case will begin to go through the standard legal process. The identity of the deceased individual located on February 28th, in the water at the Tuttle Creek Lake has been identified as Jane Peterson (56) of rural St.George. This news came from Pottawatomie County Sheriff, Greg Riat Tuesday morning. Jane Peterson had been reported as a missing person by family members on January 19th, 2014. The Sheriff’s Office does not suspect foul play in this incident. The cause of death identified by the pathologist in this matter was drowning and hypothermia.
