A Manhattan woman says she was attacked by two dogs while she was walking her small terrier around Garden Way on Tuesday morning. Sandra Pike is headed to the hospital after she says she was attacked by two pit bull terriers as she rounded a corner in the rear of several apartments. Pike says she just stood still, and called for the owners to come get the dogs off of her. City officials say they will investigate, and the case will begin to go through the standard legal process. The identity of the deceased individual located on February 28th, in the water at the Tuttle Creek Lake has been identified as Jane Peterson (56) of rural St.George. This news came from Pottawatomie County Sheriff, Greg Riat Tuesday morning. Jane Peterson had been reported as a missing person by family members on January 19th, 2014. The Sheriff’s Office does not suspect foul play in this incident. The cause of death identified by the pathologist in this matter was drowning and hypothermia. It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week and Riley County Emergency Management Coordinator Laurie Harrison tells KMAN it’s a good week to get ready for severe weather that often strikes, beginning this time of year. Two people were injured in an early morning accident in Geary county. The Kansas Highway patrol reports a 2011 International Semi-tractor was westbound on I-70 nine miles east of Junction City and for an unknown reason entered the median. The driver, identified as 29 year old Courage Gbobo, 29, of Florida, attempted to steer back onto the roadway but the vehicle overturned and came to rest in the median.
