A Manhattan man was arrested Tuesday on several charges of child sex crimes. According to the Riley County Police Department, the charges against 18-year-old Darryl Klemick are in connection to multiple incidents involving a now 16-year-old female, known to Klemick. The alleged incidents occurred between November 2022 and May 2023. Klemick was already confined on previous charges when RCPD arrested him Tuesday on three counts of electronic solicitation, four counts each of sexual exploitation of a child and unlawful sexual relations, as well as five counts of unlawful voluntary sexual relations. One person was injured Tuesday in a crash in Wamego. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Nissan Rogue failed to yield at the intersection of Hwy 24 and K-99, shortly after 5 p.m. colliding with a southbound Ford Fiesta. The driver of the Ford, 18-year-old Elijah Bergmeier, of Wamego was transported to Wamego Health Center for a suspected minor injury. The 15-year-old driver of the other car and a 41-year-old passenger were not injured.

A Topeka man was in Riley County District Court Monday for sentencing after pleading guilty to domestic violence charges. 22-year-old Ronald Saunders received probation from Judge Kendra Lewison after entering a plea agreement and subsequently being found guilty in June on six counts of domestic violence and interference with law enforcement charges. The charges stem from a September 2022 incident against an 18 year old victim. Saunders was required to enroll in the Domestic Batterer’s program and will be able to have his fines waived by the court if he successfully completes the course. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, was hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest while participating in a practice at Southern California on Monday, a family spokesman said Tuesday.
