The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying a man who used a stolen financial card in several counties. The sheriff’s office says the male suspect was caught on video using the card in multiple counties. The estimated total loss is $120.00. A Junction City man plead guilty to identity theft in Riley County District Court on Monday. 44-year-old Travis Calloway plead guilty to three counts of identity theft before Judge John Bosch on Monday. Calloway had previously been charged with over 15 counts of financial and property crimes for two seperate cases that occurred in December 2021 and August 2023. Judge Bosch scheduled a sentencing hearing before him on Feb. 26 in Riley County District Court.
A winter storm continues to blast the region and forecasters now say higher amounts are likely, especially along and north of Interstate 70. A Winter Storm Warning continues areawide through midday Tuesday, with about 6 to 10 inches of accumulation now possible. Strong winds will also be notable Tuesday morning and could cause reduced visibility.
