MANHATTAN, Kansas (Kansas State Athletics) – K-State head coach Jeff Mittie has added to his support staff for the 2022-23 season, as he has selected Kacie Jones as the Director of Women’s Basketball Administration. “We are excited to add Kacie to our staff this season,” said Mittie about the program’s newest addition. “She has been on our coaching radar for a couple of years now if the right situation presented itself. Two former Wamego teachers appeared in Pottawatomie District Court Tuesday morning. 51-year-old Allen and 55-year-old Deborah Sylvester appeared in front of Judge Erich Campbell. Each are charged with unlawful sexual relations involving a student who was 17, later turned 18, during the 2020-21 school year. On May 31st, the married couple resigned their positions as teachers. Allen was a middle school Science teacher, and Deborah taught Math at the high school in USD 320. Honorable Campbell ordered a no-contact order between both defendants and the alleged victim. (Kansas State Athletics) – K-State’s all-time home run leader and two-way star Dylan Phillips was selected in the eighth round (No. 238 overall) of the 2022 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Angels Monday. Phillips, a two-time All-Big 12 Second Team selection, is the first Wildcat taken in this year’s MLB Draft and the fourth K-State draft pick in the top 10 rounds over the last four seasons.
