The Riley County Police Department is investigating a theft reported Wednesday morning in Aggieville. Officers filed the report around 10:29 a.m. Nov. 26 in the 1200 block of Moro Street. According to police, The Alms Group was listed as the victim after an unknown suspect used a deceptive scheme to steal money. The total loss is estimated at $5,920. A Manhattan man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon on charges stemming from a report filed earlier this year. Riley County Police say officers originally filed a report on May 15 around 12:07 p.m. in the 2000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard for possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, as well as use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation. A Manhattan man was flown to a Kansas City–area hospital following a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in rural Riley County. Riley County Police say officers responded around 1:35 p.m. Nov. 26 to the 12000 block of Green-Randolph Road. The Riley County Police Department is investigating two separate theft reports involving forged checks at KS State Bank on Nov. 28. The first report was filed around 11:39 a.m. in the 1000 block of Westloop Place. Bank staff told police an unknown suspect cashed a forged check, resulting in a loss of $2,500. A second, similar incident was reported earlier that morning at 10:58 a.m. at the same location. In that case, an unknown suspect cashed another forged check, with a reported loss of $5,000.
