Officers filed a report of an injury accident on November 7, 2024, at approximately 8:39 PM at the corner of College Heights Road and Goodnow Ave. Officers report a GMC Acadia, driven by Lacey Farney of Manhattan, was rear-ended by a Suzuki 400 driven by Jackson Ross, also of Manhattan. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating a death that occurred at the Northeast Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City. The KBI was contacted Tuesday morning to investigate the death of a 17-year-old male from Dodge City. The teen had been at the detention facility since early August as a result of a child in need of care case. KBI agents responded to the facility to investigate. The investigation indicates that personnel found the 17-year-old male unresponsive just before 7 a.m., and began life-saving measures. Kenny Titus won the race for the Kansas Senate District 18 seat Tuesday with 67% of the vote, defeating Democrat Matthew Robin, whose name still appeared on the ballot despite ending his campaign in late August.
