On October 27, 2024, police in Manhattan, KS, filed charges for aggravated assault, battery on a law enforcement officer, and interference with law enforcement following an incident in the 200 block of North 9th Street. Reports indicate that 32-year-old Tiffany Ryals allegedly threatened a 63-year-old man with a knife and physically assaulted a 45-year-old man. Ryals was arrested and remains in the Riley County Jail on a $20,000 bond as the investigation continues. She was previously arrested on October 22nd for alleged criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer, and battery on a law enforcement…

On the morning of October 27, 2024, Riley County riled a report of aggravated child endangerment in Manhattan, KS. Officers found that a 1-year-old boy had been left unattended at a residence by two women, identified as 19-year-old Madyson Green and 25-year-old Alisia Green. Both were subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated child endangerment. Each received a $6,000 bond and remains in custody at the Riley County Jail as of this report.
On October 26, 2024, officers filed a report of arson and interference with law enforcement on Brookglen Circle in Manhattan, KS. The incident occurred around 12:25 p.m., when 50-year-old Joanne Burnett allegedly started a fire, damaging a dumpster belonging to Howie’s Recycling Center. A 23-year-old man was also listed as a victim in the report. Burnett was arrested on charges of arson and interference with law enforcement. She was issued a $6,000 bond and has since been released from custody.
On October 27, 2024, officers responded to an incident in the 500 block of Rio Hondo Way, Manhattan, KS. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:53 a.m., when a 23-year-old man was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a 33-year-old suspect, Michael Calvert. According to the report, Calvert forced the victim to change locations and took his belongings. Following the incident, Calvert was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and kidnapping. He is currently held at the Riley County Jail with a bond set at $200,000.
Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Lee St and Anderson Ave on October 25, 2024, at approximately 7:33 a.m. After additional investigation, officers found a 2015 Honda Accord driven by a 15-year-old male struck a 16-year-old male pedestrian on a bicycle. The pedestrian went to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries. This investigation is still ongoing at this time. By Tim Everson While No. 16 Kansas State had to scratch and claw its way to a 16th straight win over Kansas Saturday, head coach Chris Klieman had his own personal struggle to contend with throughout the game. Midway through the first half, the K-State radio team of Wyatt Thompson and Stan Weber told listeners that Klieman was receiving treatment on the sideline because of dizziness.
