On October 22, 2024, at approximately 10:55 p.m., officers responded to an incident in the 400 block of North 4th Street in Manhattan. A 34-year-old woman, Tierra Jackson, was arrested following reports of a collision and subsequent offenses. According to the police report, a 19-year-old woman was listed as the victim after Jackson allegedly struck an object. Jackson faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, aggravated battery, failure to provide required information, transporting an open container, and interference with law enforcement. On October 22, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to an incident in the 400 block of Clydesdale Drive involving aggravated criminal threat, battery, and endangering a child. A 17-year-old boy was reported to have threatened a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy with a sharp object and physically assaulted one of them. Lewis Wardrup was arrested on charges of aggravated criminal threat, battery, and endangering a child. He was issued no bond and remains confined at the Reno County Juvenile Detention Center at the time of this report.
A 32-year-old Manhattan woman was arrested on October 22, 2024, following an incident that occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Walters Drive. Officers responded to reports that the woman had trespassed on private property and assaulted a 35-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man. Tiffany Ryals was taken into custody and is facing charges that include criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer, and battery on a law enforcement officer. She was issued a total bond of $15,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

In runaway fashion, the Manhattan High girls’ golf squad clinched the state championship title, carding a team total of 593 strokes — 29 strokes ahead of runner-up Shawnee Mission East. In the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, the Indians were a golf powerhouse in the state of Kansas, winning 11 titles from 1985 to 2008.
