Beebe, who was a second-team selection after the 2022 season, is the second Wildcat in as many years to be named a First Team Preseason All-American by the AP. A Manhattan woman was arrested Sunday on a host of drug-related offenses. According to the Riley County Police Department, 31-year-old Sarah Easterday was jailed on a warrant alleging distribution of intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, cultivation of marijuana, child endangerment and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. The warrant stems from a December 2021 warrant in the 1400 block of Yuma Street where responding officers found marijuana burning inside the home. Easterday is out of jail after posting a $30,000 bond.

A 19-year-old Junction City man is jailed following a weekend arrest alleging child sex crimes. Blake Konkright was arrested Saturday on a Riley County District Court warrant from July 2022, for aggravated indecent liberties with a child. The victim is an 8-year-old female. Bond was set at $40,000. RCPD says due to the nature of the crime, no further information will be released.

The Princeton Review released their annual college rankings for 2024 and Kansas State University has gained a top spot. The wildcats were ranked number one in the nation for friendliest students. In addition, K-State also earned number two in happiest students, number four for best quality of life and number five for best student support and counseling services and best athletic facilities. The university earned a total of 15 top ten rankings and two more in the top 15.
