From K-State Sports Senior Kamau Stokes scored a game-high 20 points en route to becoming the 30th Wildcat in school history to score 1,000 career points, as K-State fought off a furious George Mason comeback attempt to win 59-58 at Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday. With the win, K-State (10-2) extended its non-conference winning streak at Bramlage Coliseum to 29 games. From K-State Sports Kansas State used a strong second half on Saturday afternoon to end its 2018-19 regular season non-conference schedule with a 72-62 win over Northern Iowa at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats have won seven straight home games. K-State (9-3) shot 50 percent or better in both the third and fourth quarters, as the Wildcats outscored UNI, 40-33, in the second half. From K-State Athletics Legendary men’s basketball player Willie Murrell, the only Wildcat to be named to an All-Final Four team, recently passed away at the age of 78 in Denver, Colorado. One of just 11 players to earn first team All-America honors, Murrell was a two-year letterman for head coach Fred “Tex” Winter from 1962-64 after transferring from Eastern Oklahoma A&M. He guided the Wildcats to a 38-16 overall record, including a pair of Big Eight Conference titles and a Final Four appearance in 1964.
